Hi gang! It's another short week. Here's the plan:
Math - let's work toward a quizzy about fractions this week. We've recently been working with improper and mixed fractions. Recognizing that these fractions are 'more than one whole' is a good first step. Writing their equivalents takes an understanding of 'how many pieces make one whole'. Keep practicing moving these fractions from one form to another. At the same time, we'll continue to compare and order fractions, and recognize or draw pictures that represent fractional values.
L.A. - We'll get into more partner reading this week. This time around we'll again turn our attention to space science.
Science - your Solar System object research should be well underway. We'll review the criteria for the project this week, and I'll talk more about the writing component of the project. Be sure to check out the in-class examples, and to use the recommended sites (listed here on the blog) for your research.
Young Entrepreneurs - Last week you brought home a Loan Certificate. Please be sure to get this signed, and to keep track of your spending. Save those receipts! Bring these in to the school: we'll pop these into a safe place for later. We'll begin working on our marketing campaign this week. Have you thought of a great name for your business yet?
Thursday is CC day. Please make arrangements for your afternoon before you head off to school on Thursday. You don't want to have to scramble to set things up for your afternoon. Enjoy!
