This is a Pro-D day shortened week. Here is what to expect:
Science: We will explore Earth's orbit, and how the tilt of the Earth's axis of rotation causes our seasons. Expect an activity to model four key points in orbit. As well, amazing things continue to happen in terms of space exploration. Take a moment to learn about what happened over the weekend.
Math: We will explore adding and subtracting fractions with unlike denominators this week. Be sure to practice with a growth mindset, make productive and responsible choices when practicing, and check in to ensure you've got the right idea.
Language Arts: We will read with an ear for "compare and contrast" writing. Be on the lookout for key transition words that indicate comparison (how things are similar), or show contrast (how things are different).
Writing: We will revise and publish the "Mysterious Object" writing piece this week.
YEP: As of Monday, most of you have had an opportunity to present your project proposal for review. While some of you have a little more work to do (mostly in determining costs for your project), many of you now have approval for your idea. We will work this week to set some goals and deadlines for building your pieces, fill in some of the details of your budget, and do some preliminary market research. Fun!
